The ingredients:
- Approximately 10 cups' worth of cored and sliced apples**
- 1 cup and 1 tbsp of flour
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 1/2 cup water
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 tsp baking soda
- 1/4 tsp baking powder
- 1/2 cup of melted butter
- 1 cup quick-cooking oats
**You can slice them if you want, but I think it looks better to leave the skin on!
The tools:
- A cutting board
- A good chopping knife
- Measuring spoons
- 9 x 13 inch pan
- Measuring cups
- 2 small bowls
- Stirring spoon
How to make it:
- Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. (I am assuming you have already cut up your apples, but if you haven't, do this while the oven is heating!)
- Place the apples into the pan (do not grease it!) in an even layer.
- Mix the tablespoon of flour with the cinnamon and sprinkle over the apples.
- Pour the water evenly over the apples.
- Mix the oats, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, butter, and the rest of the flour together to form a sort of dough. Crumble this evenly over the top of the apples.
- Bake for about 50 minutes to an hour, or until lightly brown.
